ATLANTA — The Buckeyes appear to be as healthy as they have been in a while, and the timing couldn’t be better as No. 4 Ohio State gets set for tonight’s College Football Playoff semifinal against No. 1 Georgia in the Peach Bowl.
The Buckeyes, of course, are still without running back TreVeyon Henderson and receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba. Njigba has been out for most of the season due to a hamstring issue. Henderson was shut down prior to the Michigan game because of a foot issue. This will be the fifth game he has missed this season.
Fortunately for the Buckeyes, leading rusher Miyan Williams is slated to return. He was only used sparingly against Michigan due to injury, then this past week he came down with a stomach bug and wasn’t able to be a full participant in practice until a couple of days ago.
Ohio State also appears to be fully healthy at cornerback, which they haven’t been for most of this season. The Buckeyes have started five different corners this year as the position has faced a number of injuries.
There was some concern about a knee injury that freshman linebacker CJ Hicks suffered against Michigan, but he is not part of the availability report and was practicing this week. That may not mean much of an impact for this game, but it is great news for Hicks moving forward into 2023.
Sophomore nose tackle Mike Hall has been inching closer and closer to 100% as well.
Tight end Gee Scott is the only game-time decision.
