The No. 1 Ohio State women’s hockey team continued its impressive run by completing a weekend sweep of Minnesota State inside the Ohio State Ice Rink on Saturday.
The Buckeyes jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first period behind goals from Makenna Webster, Paetyn Levis, and Sofie Lundin.
Minnesota State cut it to 3-2 after two periods, but the Buckeyes capitalized on a five-minute power play in the third to score an insurance goal by Riley Brengman to win, 4-2.
The defending national champions improved to 24-2-2 on the season, and travel to Minnesota next weekend for a series that will likely decide the WCHA regular season championship.
The Buckeyes’ final home series of the season will be Friday, February 10 and Saturday, February 11 at the OSU Ice Rink.
