Ohio State’s spring football practice is set to get underway on Tuesday and thoughts to the 2023 season are heavy on the minds of Buckeye Nation as fans hope their favorite team can breakthrough and get past the semifinals of the CFP and win the final year of the four-team playoff.
It would be fitting with Ohio State winning the first four-team playoff season of 2014 with wins over Alabama and Oregon en route to the program’s latest national championship.
With the growth of legal sports wagering as the state of Ohio has joined the ranks of many other states, futures bets on items such as the 2024 National Champion, Heisman winner and other bets are being talked about more and more.
To little surprise, the same top teams of most years are atop the odds for eventual national champions, even with the top three teams in the rankings all lacking a returning starter at quarterback.
We picked up an odds sheet from Caesar’s Sportsbook last week and the Buckeyes find themselves with the third best odds of any team in the nation at +650. That means that a 100-dollar wager would payoff 650-dollars of winnings if you were to bet on the Buckeyes and the Buckeyes were the last team left standing.
Ohio State only trails Georgia (+280) and Alabama (+500) on the futures board.

Three Big Ten teams and one future Big Ten team make it into the top-12 of the odds with the SEC holding down four spots of current schools and one future school with Texas set to join the SEC for the 2024 regular season.
The odds start to get a little longer as you work your way down the Big Ten with Rutgers at the bottom of the list at +100000.
