FAIRFIELD, Ohio — If class of 2025 Cincinnati (Ohio) Withrow wide receiver Quintin Simmons was a stock, and not a human being, there would be a major buy rating on the 6-foot-1, 170-pound rising junior. Simmons, coming off a strong sophomore season, has landed some major offers this off-season including the likes of Michigan and Penn State.
Simmons is off to a red hot start this spring, dominating at Monday’s 7-on-7 showcase at Fairfield High School. Simmons made numerous big plays throughout the event, but also showed the versatility to make things happen underneath. Overall, it was a major standout performance for one of Ohio’s fastest rising prospects.
“It was good to get out there,” Simmons told BuckeyeHuddle.com after the event. “I feel like being able to do 7-on-7’s (in May) is helping us get ready for the season.”
Simmons will pair with 2026 super recruit Chris Henry Jr. to form one of the most formidable duos in the country this fall. The two were nearly unstoppable on Monday evening and with the presence of both, the double teams will be few and far between.
“Me and Chris are the top receivers, but our whole receivers corp is loaded,” Simmons said. “Every DB (that faces Withrow) is going to have a problem.”
Lofty comparisons have been thrown in Simmons’ direction by those around the program. Withrow head coach Kali Jones has even compared him to Ted Ginn Jr. because of his track speed and ability as a kick returner.
“Coach Jones compares me to a lot of people, but Ted Ginn Jr., I think that’s the kick return part,” Simmons explained. “I’m gonna return the ball. When the ball hits my hands, it’s going to the other side of the field.”
The Buckeyes hosted Simmons for an unofficial visit during the spring and should see him back on campus in June for a one-day camp.
“Practice up there was great,” Simmons recalled. “They were competitive, loud, energized. It’s great up at Ohio State.”
