Welcome to ‘Eyes on the Trail’, our Monday-Friday Ohio State recruiting notebook from the recruiting staff here at BuckeyeHuddle.com. Keep it locked in here for the latest in all things Buckeye recruiting.
Aaron Scott Drops Top Five
One of Ohio State’s top targets, regardless of position, in the 2024 cycle has been Aaron Scott of Springfield (OH). The 6-foot, 170-pounder decided to cut his list down to five schools with official visits on tap in the month of June.
The Buckeyes, Michigan, Tennessee, Oregon, and Penn State are the schools to make the cut, with Scott expected to visit most, if not all, of those programs in the next 30 days.
Right now I think this is really a two team battle, not a five team battle, with the Wolverines and Buckeyes set to go head to head once again. Scott is expected in Ann Arbor the weekend of June 16 and while there is no date set yet, I am hearing he may be in Columbus the weekend of June 23.
I do think OSU holds the edge right now, and while I don’t feel this one is over, I think UM would have to put up a very convincing argument for the Bucks to not keep this four-star talent home.
I expect a decision before the start of Scott’s senior football season, so probably sometime in July.
First Official Visit Weekend On Tap
Speaking of official visits, the first round of those will be hosted by Ohio State starting on Friday and running through Sunday. Our running tally of visitors can be found HERE, but in case you’re feeling lazy, you can expect the following visitors to be on campus this weekend:
- 2024 RB Jordan Lyle (Commit)
- 2024 WR Elijah Moore
- 2024 TE Max LeBlanc (Commit)
- 2024 OL Daniel Cruz
- 2024 DL Nigel Smith
- 2024 DT Dominick McKinley
- 2024 LB Nicholas Rodriguez
We will cover this weekend in more detail in tomorrow’s A-Deck, but looks like the excitement is already starting with a couple expected on campus.
