Ohio State is gearing up for what could be a huge month of July on the recruiting trail with several key targets either setting announcement dates or hinting at a decision at some point during the month. The latest priority target to announce a decision date is Marquise Lightfoot.
Lightfoot will make his college decision on the evening of July 3rd.
The 6-foot-5, 220-pound prospect out of Chicago (IL) Kenwood Academy emerged as a priority for the Buckeyes over the winter as Larry Johnson and Co. look to reload the defensive end position this cycle. Lightfoot made an unofficial visit during the spring which catapulted Ohio State to the forefront of his recruitment and then the Buckeyes received an official visit back on June 9th.
Lightfoot will decide between Alabama, Georgia, Illinois, Miami (FL), USC and Ohio State. BuckeyeHuddle.com has reported for a while that Ohio State appears to be the team to beat for the four-star prospect it would be a huge domino to fall for the Buckeyes in a class with room for at least three defensive end prospects.
