After an interesting summer on the recruiting trail with both positive and negative surprises for Ohio State, the Buckeyes are back in the winner’s circle as they have landed Buford (Ga.) star Eddrick Houston.
The five-star defensive end prospect chose Ohio State over Alabama, Georgia, Clemson, and many others in what was one of the nation’s more competitive recruiting battles in the 2024 cycle.
Houston’s relationship with Ohio State defensive line coach Larry Johnson as well as his scheme fit in the Buckeye defense’s four-man front were major driving factors that allowed the Buckeyes to surge with the big-time pass rusher during the spring and summer months.
Houston joins Chicagoland star Justin Scott to form a five-star tandem for Johnson and the Buckeyes along the defensive line in the 2024 class, but there is still plenty of work to be done as Ohio State hopes to sign at least three more defensive linemen this cycle.
