COLUMBUS — Following Ohio State’s 63-10 win over Western Kentucky on Saturday, Buckeye head coach Ryan Day met with reporters to discuss the victory. These were the best performances this season by both the OSU offense and defense, so there was plenty to discuss. The highlights of everything that Day had to say can be found below.
- The last half of the second quarter went pretty well? The team needs to play like this moving forward.
- This team needs to take a step forward. They had a good week of work. This week is going to be big. “We knew we had to turn this up.”
- They knew this game wasn’t going to be perfect, but thy wanted to play hard. The defense didn’t flinch. Kyle McCord responded after the turnover.
- They were going to take a knee at the end of the first half, but Day wanted to see what Kyle McCord could do with the two-minute drill.
- The turnovers were huge for the defense. They had passion and played fast with violence. “Guys flying sideline to sideline.”
- They did much better in short yardage on offense today. Need to keep that going.
- Tyleik Williams looked like he was a dog burrowing for a bone according to Mickey Marotti.
