Charlotte (NC) Myers Park wide receiver Brody Keefe camped with Ohio State over the summer and earned an offer from the Buckeyes after an impressive performance in front of Brian Hartline. The 6-foot-3, 185-pound prospect returned to Columbus to watch Ohio State’s win over Penn State last weekend.
“Being there for the first time for a game was awesome,” Keefe told BuckeyeHuddle.com. “The stadium was cool and the student section was huge. Just really being able to see some of the best wide receivers in college football and one of the top teams in the country play and knowing that I have the offer to play on this field one day was pretty incredible. It was all impressive.”
Like many of the key unofficial visitors last weekend, Keefe was able to stay over Saturday night and get a quick visit in on Sunday to meet with the coaches.
“I did get to catch up with Coach Hartline Saturday and again (Sunday),” he explained. “We had talked earlier in the week so really just caught up on my game from this week and what they expected against PSU. (Sunday) we met up at his office and I really just heard again how much he loves his guys. He is pretty passionate about developing players and that means a lot to me. I like how he teaches but encourages his guys to teach each other too. You can tell they are a close group. Got to talk to X (Xavier Johnson) in the hall and I really like what he had to say about growing in the program.”
Ohio State is a school of high interest for Keefe early in the process. The last couple of visits have made a big impression on the four-star prospect and last Saturday’s trip won’t be the last one Keefe makes to Columbus.
“I’d say what made me come back was the coaching staff and the way the program really invests in its players,” he explained. “Everything is based on science, from nutrition to recovery. Of course they put out some of the best players every year too. I wanted to get to know a little more this time and start to really build a relationship with the program. I’ll be back again for sure.”
Keefe was at Notre Dame this past weekend and has Georgia on deck.
