The 119th meeting of the Ohio State Buckeyes and Michigan Wolverines was one of the most-hyped, most-anticipated, and highest-stakes matchups in the long and storied history of the greatest rivalry in all of sports.
The game itself lived up to the hype and then some. Michigan jumped out to a 14-3 first-half lead and seemed to be on the brink of pulling away, but the Buckeyes fought back to tie the game at 17-17 in the third quarter.
Michigan responded, taking a 27-17 lead with less than 12 minutes to play on a Blake Corum touchdown run and a field goal by James Turner.
But Ohio State battled back once again, with Marvin Harrison, Jr. scoring to cut it to 27-24 with just over eight minutes remaining on the clock.
Michigan was able to run seven minutes of that time off during a 13-play drive that ended with another field goal from Turner to make it 30-24 with 1:05 to play.
Ohio State QB Kyle McCord led the Buckeyes down the field on a desperate final-minute drive, getting the ball down to the Michigan 37, but safety Rod Moore intercepted a McCord pass to seal the win.
