As Ohio State is actively trying to add to its 2024 recruiting class along the defensive line, yet another spot has opened up as the Buckeyes received some bad, and surprising, news on Wednesday evening as five-star defensive tackle Justin Scott has flipped his commitment from Ohio State to Miami (FL).
One of the nation’s top defensive tackle prospects, Scott was a bit of a surprise commitment for Ohio State over the summer, picking the Buckeyes over the likes of Georgia, Michigan, Notre Dame, and others.
The Buckeyes had been hoping to add another defensive tackle to this class, most likely Bay City (TX) standout Carlon Jones who visits next weekend, but now it looks like two more could be in the cards.
The transfer portal also opens up on Monday and while no decisions have been made on the NFL early entry front, it was already thought to be possible that the Buckeyes could add another body via the portal for a more immediate impact if players such as Tyleik Williams and Mike Hall decided to enter the draft.
Now it seems even more likely that the Buckeyes will scour the portal to see if there is a defensive tackle that could help them in 2024.
