Ohio State hosted Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy offensive tackle Jordan Seaton for an official visit over the weekend and now the five-star prospect has set his decision date.
The 6-foot-5, 290-pound prospect will announce his college decision on December 7th and choose between six finalists; Alabama, Florida, Maryland, Ohio State, Oregon, and Tennessee. Seaton, ranked by many as the nation’s top offensive tackle prospect, has been able to follow his recruiting plan over the past year, which was to take most of his official visits in the fall and then make a decision in December.
Alabama received an official visit back in the summer, but the trips to Florida, Ohio State, Oregon, and Tennessee all took place during the football season. While it seems like Ohio State’s involvement with Seaton has run hot and cold at times, the Buckeyes have never slowed down their pursuit of the five-star talent and were able to get the last official heading into his announcement.
Alabama and Ohio State have been the two constant programs mentioned with Seaton with the rest of the group being a seemingly revolving door. Apparently out are Colorado and Oklahoma, two teams who had momentum at various points this summer and fall with Colorado getting an official visit in early November.
Ohio State made its pitch to Seaton over the weekend, a pitch that included just how important the addition of a big-time offensive tackle would be to the Buckeyes’ roster and a plan for development both on and off the field. Now the Buckeyes will find out in a few days whether or not that pitch, and their longstanding relationship with Seaton, will pay dividends.
