With two running backs to the transfer portal and at least one to the NFL, the Buckeyes have to replenish their stocks, and they have done that in part with the signing of Pickerington North (OH) prospect Sam Williams-Dixon.
Williams-Dixon (5-11 203) is ranked the No. 41 athlete in the nation per the 247Sports Composite. He is ranked the No. 594 player nationally and the No. 21 player in the state of Ohio.
Ohio State offered Williams-Dixon in mid-January, and he committed to the Buckeyes three months later. He signed with Ohio State over offers from Kentucky, Michigan State, Tennessee, Penn State, and others.
Williams-Dixon transferred to Pickerington North for his senior season after previously attending West Holmes High School in Millersburg, Ohio. As a junior, he rushed for over 1,200 yards.
As a senior this past season at Pickerington North, Williams-Dixon was part of a three-back attack. He rushed for 475 yards on 71 carries (6.7 ypc), scoring four touchdowns.
Williams-Dixon is expected to enroll early for the Buckeyes and begin classes in January.
Below, Buckeye Huddle breaks down Sam Williams-Dixon’s game, what he’ll bring to the Buckeyes, and how quickly all of this might happen.
