As college football recruiting progresses there are fewer surprise players in the nation as each year goes on.
Leroy Roker may be one of those surprise players as he only held five offers through his process.
But it only takes one and Ohio State was the one that mattered the most as he made it official by signing with the Buckeyes on Wednesday.
Roker, a 6-foot-1, 170-pound safety was a tremendous basketball player as well but now the focus is football and the Buckeyes may have found a real gem.
Iowa thought it might get away with this one as it appeared Roker was headed to Iowa City at one point, but the Buckeyes entered the fray and that was all she wrote.
Player comparisons are always a dicey proposition but there is a comparison that jumped out in watching Roker’s tape and while it is unfair to make that comparison today, just watch our signing day capsule and tell us you don’t see it too.
