One of the nation’s top junior prospects will be coming off the board on Saturday afternoon as Houston (Texas) North Shore cornerback Devin Sanchez makes his college decision during the All-American Bowl broadcast on NBC.
Sanchez, the nation’s top-ranked cornerback will decide between a final three of Alabama, Ohio State, and Texas A&M, giving one team a huge boost to its secondary.
Sanchez spoke with BuckeyeHuddle.com about his finalists and what his decision will ultimately come down to.
On Alabama: “Just being Alabama, having Nick Saban as a coach and what they’ve done in the past. They’re always in the college football playoff. So that’s why they are one of my finalists.”
On Ohio State: “I’ve been up there maybe three or four times and it’s always been great. I liked watching what they did this season, especially in the back end. They played amazing, so it was fun to watch.”
On Texas A&M: “Just down the road, maybe an hour and a half away. It’s a school that I’ve grown up watching. It’s a home school. I’ve had a good relationship with the coaches there.”
Sanchez will reveal his decision on Saturday afternoon but has put a lot of thought into his choice and it ultimately comes down to two major factors for the five-star talent.
“Building relationships and where I’m going to get developed the most,” Sanchez said. “Those are the two biggest things that I look at the most. Why go to a school that’s not going to develop you? So that’s my biggest thing.”
You can tune in to NBC for the All-American Bowl at 1 PM Eastern on Saturday to watch several future Ohio State players on the field and also to catch Sanchez’s live commitment announcement.
