With the NFL declaration deadline rapidly approaching, several draft-eligible Buckeyes have made their intentions known today.
The latest is cornerback Jordan Hancock, who went to X (formerly known as Twitter) to break the news himself.
He joins fellow corner Denzel Burke and offensive guard Donovan Jackson as players opting to return to Ohio State for the 2024 season.
Hancock had 41 tackles for the 11-2 Buckeyes in 2023 with two interceptions, five pass breakups and two forced fumbles on the season. Hancock would see action in all 13 games for the Buckeyes over the course of the season as the Ohio State defense made a dramatic jump from 2022 to 2023.
Several Buckeyes players with decisions to make said prior to the Cotton Bowl that they were thinking about a return, especially with how the regular season ended up in Ann Arbor (Mich.). With Ohio State losing the Cotton Bowl and then watching the rivals to the north record the last win of the season, any fire and determination fueling a return only gained more heat as the Buckeyes look to be returning just about everyone.
Fans are still waiting on decisions from players including Emeka Egbuka, TreVeyon Henderson and J.T. Tuimoloau. Wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. has not made a declaration either, but that one appears to be a forgone conclusion that he will go to the NFL Draft as a likely top-five pick by the league.
The Buckeyes will have almost the entire secondary back in 2024 with Hancock, Burke, Davison Igbinosun and Lathan Ransom all set to return. The only departure is Josh Proctor, who had exhausted his eligibility after the Cotton Bowl.
