Top Buckeyes Linebacker Target T.J. Alford Sets Decision Date

Vero Beach (FL) linebacker Tarvos ‘T.J.’ Alford has been right at the top of the Ohio State recruiting wish list for much of the 2025 recruiting cycle and the Buckeyes aren’t too far away from knowing exactly where they stand with the Top 50 national prospect.

The 6-foot-2, 210-pound four-star linebacker cut his list to six on Friday evening and announced a decision date of March 30th. Alford’s six finalists are Florida, Florida State, Miami (FL), Tennessee, UCF and Ohio State.

“Really they all have been recruiting me heavily,” Alford told BuckeyeHuddle.com of his finalists. “I feel like I can make an impact at all of those schools and help win a championship.”

Alford made a visit to UCF two weekends ago and Miami this past weekend. He’ll be back at Ohio State on March 23rd, a week before he makes his decision. The Ohio State visit comes at an opportune time for the Buckeyes who may have a chance to make the last impression before a decision comes down.

Alford has already been to Columbus twice. This trip will be different, however, as Alford’s father will be along for his first in-person look at Ohio State.

“I just really want to see how my dad feels around (the coaches and players),” Alford stated. “And (we’re going too look at) the school.”

Aside from those trips, Alford is going to work on seeing as many of his other three finalists as he can before his announcement date.

“I’m trying to get (visits to) all my top six schools scheduled,” he said. “Some might have to be after I commit. I’m also trying to get to Louisville.”

The significance of the March 30th date is that it is the birthday of his late grandfather.
