The state of Ohio is loaded with talent along the offensive line in the 2026 class and St. Ignatius star Will Conroy is among the early priority targets of that group for the Buckeyes.
Conroy was back on campus on Saturday to watch the Buckeyes practice and continue to build relationships with the coaching staff.
“The intensity of the practice is something I love,” Conroy told BuckeyeHuddle.com. “Iron sharpens iron, in my opinion, and just being there and seeing the intensity really stood out to me. That was my favorite part.”
Conroy was offered by Ohio State this winter on a Junior Day visit. At the time, he called it a ‘dream come true’. But now he finds himself in the middle of a recruiting process that is going national quickly. Even so, it’s hard to shake the excitement of having the opportunity to play at this childhood favorite school.
“Yeah it was cool for sure (getting the offer) but just not being biased and seeing things from the other side, not the Ohio kid, has been tough but OSU has been a blessing.”
Now the important part for Conroy will be building trust and relationships with the Buckeye coaching staff. Things are progressing well on that front.
“The relationship has been going good,” he started. “We are kind of in a phase now where I’ve visited a few times and they’ve offered me and now we’re gonna start going over some film and start growing in that aspect. But it’s been good.”
Conroy is building an impressive offer list this off-season, one that now includes Oklahoma and Texas A&M. He’s looking to visit both programs this spring as well as Oregon and Purdue. A return trip to Ohio State for the spring game is also possible.
Conroy is the No. 6 prospect in the state of Ohio in the Buckeye Huddle Class of 2026 Ohio Rankings.
