Ohio State hosted another monster group of visitors this weekend for the annual spring game, including some of the biggest names nationally in the 2026 recruiting class. One of those players comes from familiar territory in Buford (Ga.) defensive lineman Bryce Perry-Wright.
The Buckeyes are in hot pursuit of the Top 100 prospect having landed a couple of talented players from Buford over the years.
“Loved it from the coaches to the 82,000 people there for a spring game,” Perry-Wright told BuckeyeHuddle.com. “Everything stood out.”
Perry-Wright teamed with Ohio State true freshman Eddrick Houston last season to create one of the most formidable defensive lines in all of high school football. Getting to watch his friend and former teammate making plays on Saturday was an added benefit to the visit.
“It was great (that Eddrick) showed that he can be even better in college going against the best,” he said.
A big part of the reason that Houston chose Ohio State was his relationship with Buckeye defensive line coach Larry Johnson. Johnson is working to build a similar relationship with Perry-Wright.
“I have a great relationship with coach Johnson and all of the coaches,” Perry-Wright said. “(Johnson) is one of the goats, for real. (His success) speaks for itself.”
Perry-Wright added that he’ll definitely get back to Ohio State at some point.
