Redshirt freshman linebacker Nigel Glover is entering the transfer portal and leaving Ohio State after one season.
Glover did not see any action last year as a true freshman, though he arrived late after transferring from Northwestern in early August. Glover left the Wildcats following the firing of head coach Pat Fitzgerald.
Originally from Ohio, Glover attended Northmont High School in Clayton where he was a four-star recruit and the No. 7 player in Ohio’s class of 2023. Glover played safety in high school but transitioned to linebacker in college.
Glover was having trouble cracking the three-deep for the Buckeyes this spring. He was competing with true freshman Garrett Stover for third-team reps.
The depth chart got one player deeper when safety Sonny Styles moved to Will linebacker this spring, which is the same position that Stover and Glover play.
Junior CJ Hicks was running with the ones throughout spring practice.
