Official Visit Season kicked off this weekend for Ohio State with an impressive group of players on campus, including a few big-time wide receiver prospects, headlined by the nation’s top receiver Dakorien Moore.
Moore, making his second visit to Ohio State over the past month, has become one of the Buckeyes’ top targets this spring and is the subject of one of the nation’s fiercest recruiting battles.
Ohio State impressed Moore and his family on the weekend official visit with a well-rounded approach to the visit.
“The visit was GREAT,” Marjahn Moore, Dakorien’s mother, told BuckeyeHuddle.com. “The thing that stood out most was the academics. He’s able to structure the perfect major for himself.”
That wasn’t the only component of the visit that left an impression.
“The brotherhood, networking capabilities & head coach accessibility, and the city vibe,” she continued. “We saw so much of what the city and fan base had to offer as a Buckeye.”
As always with the receivers, the connection with Brian Hartline is important. That relationship has been a big part of why the Buckeyes have been able to work their way into mix for the nation’s top wide receiver prospect.
“Their relationship is good right now,” she said. “If given the opportunity to develop Dakorien on the college level, I’m sure it’ll grow because he seems to be a great guy.”
The Buckeyes had a message for Moore and his mother this weekend, to look beyond just a couple of years on the football field.
“The message was ‘think big’,” she said.
Moore still has official visits scheduled to LSU, Texas, and Oregon over the next three weekends.
“They set the bar very high,” she added. “That visit will definitely be compared to every other one because I was so impressed.”
