Bo knows the Buckeyes. Cleveland Villa Angela-St. Joseph running back Bo Jackson has committed to Ohio State.
He announced his commitment via social media.
Jackson (6-0 205) took an official visit to Ohio State over the first weekend in June. That visit came two weeks after an official visit to Georgia. The Bulldogs were rumored to have taken command of Jackson’s recruitment soon after, but following the visit to Columbus, the Buckeyes appeared to have restored order within the state’s borders.
Ranked the No. 5 running back and the No. 81 player in the 2025 class overall per the 247Sports Composite, Jackson committed to Ohio State over offers from Georgia, Alabama, Michigan, Auburn, and many others.
Bo Jackson rushed for over 1,700 yards last season as a junior. A talented all-around athlete, Jackson has both the requisite speed and power to run through tackles or around them.
Jackson is now the first commitment for new OSU running backs coach Carlos Locklyn. He is the first running back in Ohio State’s 2025 recruiting class, but he likely isn’t the last. Locklyn has cast a wide net since taking the job back in March, offering several running backs who seemingly weren’t part of former RBs coach Tony Alford’s plans.
The Buckeyes now have commitments from three of the top five players in the state of Ohio. Jackson joins Bellefontaine quarterback Tavien St. Clair and Toledo Whitmer offensive tackle Carter Lowe — both of whom are five-star prospects.
Ohio State is still trying to land No. 2 in-state player Trey McNutt, who is a five-star safety out of Shaker Heights High School and No. 4 in-state player Justin Hill, a four-star edge rusher out of Winton Woods High School in Cincinnati.
Keep it locked in at Buckeye Huddle where we will have much more on the commitment of Bo Jackson in the coming days.
