Quincy Porter Locks In With Buckeyes

You are not going to keep Brian Hartline off the board for long. The Buckeyes picked up their second wide receiver commit of the class of 2025 recruiting cycle with the pledge of 6-foot-4, 205-pound Quincy Porter.

The talented four-star wide receiver was an official visitor to Ohio State last week and it took him just a little less than a week to come back with favorable news for Buckeyes fans.

The Bergen (N.J.) Catholic high school star held more than three-dozen offers before ultimately making his decision to pick the Buckeyes. Porter was scheduled to take an official visit to Michigan this weekend and had one on the books for Oklahoma the following weekend. Porter had already checked out Penn State.

Porter is a top-50 player according to the 247Sports consensus rankings, something that just seems to be par for the course when it comes to Hartline’s recruiting.

He joins fellow New Jersey native De’Zie Jones as committed wide receivers in the Ohio State class.

There was not a lot of news that came out from Porter along the way, choosing to keep things much closer to the vest and just drop news when the time was right.

Obviously, the official visit to Ohio State was a game changer and that subsequently led to the cancellation of the previously mentioned other official visits for Porter and led many to believe that a quick (and positive) decision was coming.

Of course, the question now arises of who and how many for Ohio State’s wide receiver recruiting with two in the fold. The Buckeyes have already welcomed Dakorien Moore, Vernell Brown, Daylan McCutcheon, and Jayvon McFadden to campus on official visits and are slated to have Phillip Bell on campus this weekend for an official. Talyn Taylor was on initial lists for visitors the weekend of June 21^st. Throw Jamie Ffrench into the mix as well and the Buckeyes have a full deck of cards to be sorting through with many of the nation’s top receivers all looking very closely at the program that carries the moniker of WRU currently.

It is going to be a busy couple of weeks as players are trying to come to decisions before the start of their senior seasons.
