Cederian Morgan More Than Just A Big Body

COLUMBUS – The Buckeyes went from not recruiting the state of Alabama to heavily recruiting the state of Alabama.

And the next name in line comes from the class of 2026 with Cederian Morgan working out at an Ohio State camp and auditioning for Brian Hartline as the Buckeyes continue to boast one of the best wide receiver rooms in all of football.

Marvin Harrison Jr. became the highest ever drafted wide receiver in the most recent draft and Jeremiah Smith starts his journey at Ohio State as ‘the next big thing’.

Players outside of Ohio don’t have to look far to see that Ohio State is doing something different at the position.

“What they’ve done with receiver is amazing,” Morgan said. “So, I feel like if you want to be a receiver and make it to the next level, Ohio State is the place to be.”

The 6-foot-4, 210-pounder out of Alexander City (Ala.) continues to add offers, including one from Ohio State. There seems to be some disagreement among the recruiting services of how highly Morgan should be rated, but the show that he put on at Ohio State was impressive as he was taking reps alongside current Ohio State commitment Chris Henry Jr.

“I kind of got close with all the guys,” Morgan said of the talented receivers he was working out with. “We were talking to each other, just making a bond.”

Morgan has two more years of high school football left to play but already feels that he is starting to make a name for himself with what he can do that others may not be able to do.

“I just don’t want to be a receiver that’s just big,” Morgan said, “I can move, I can get out of breaks, get out and catch. So, I feel like that would separate me a lot from other big receivers.”

Morgan would like to decide prior to the start of his senior year, so we are about a year away from a decision from Morgan and as long as Brian Hartline is at Ohio State, it would seem safe to say that the Buckeyes will be in the mix until the end.
