I know that one of the strengths of the Ohio State defense so far has been how disciplined they are. The misdirection isn’t working and deception only accomplishes so much. And that’s with three different middle linebackers playing a bunch of snaps so far this season. These aren’t just talented players. They’re smart too. Prepared.
I think we’re seeing the version of Lathan Ransom that Ryan Day envisioned all the way back in 2020. Every time Day has spoken of Ransom over the years, there was always hope and anticipation in his voice. Every time. When there were injuries, you could hear the pain in Day’s voice. Things have not worked out perfectly for Ransom, but he has handled every setback in a way that has made fans of all of OSU’s coaches. And now we’re all seeing what Ryan Day saw back in 2020.
I wonder if the reason Michigan’s NOA hasn’t been released by UM yet is because it’s quite a bit different than the draft that was out there a month ago. If there is nothing new, then why sit on it? There are undoubtedly FOIA requests out there right now that they could respond to.
I know the best way to get Michigan’s administration to act on something is to report that they’re not acting on something. It looks like Sherrone Moore finally got to sign a contract for this very reason.
I think it’s clear that Arvell Reese is the future of the Ohio State middle linebacker position.
I wonder how close his snaps will approach Raekwon McMillan in 2014 when he was sharing the position with senior Curtis Grant. I don’t think it will happen, but I reserve the right to change my mind after I see what happens in Eugene.
