Carnell Tate A Game-Time Decision For Buckeyes

COLUMBUS — Ohio State sophomore wide receiver Carnell Tate is a game-time decision for the Buckeyes today against Iowa.

Tate is the only player who is listed as questionable in this week’s OSU availability report. Walk-on running backs TC Caffey and Rashid Sesay, and walk-on receiver Reis Stocksdale are all listed as OUT this week. There are no other players on the availability report.

Tate has started all four games for the Buckeyes this season and is currently third on the team in receptions (14), receiving yards (219), and touchdown catches (1).

Tate has caught at least three passes in every game this season and has been an effective blocker in the running game. If he cannot go, receivers coach Brian Hartline may choose to go with sophomore Brandon Inniss in the slot, and then have senior Emeka Egbuka move to Tate’s vacated spot outside.

Starting defensive tackle Tyleik Williams is expected to play this week after missing the past two games with an undisclosed injury. Williams has nine tackles, 2.0 tackles for loss, and 1.5 sacks in his two games played this season.

There were also questions about the health of starting quarterback Will Howard after he had to leave the game last week after taking a hit to the midsection and not being made available to reporters this week, but he did return to that game shortly after leaving and is nowhere to be found on this week’s injury report.

The Buckeyes and Hawkeyes will kick off at 3:30 pm today and the game will air on CBS.
