The Buckeyes added a piece to their recruiting class here on National Signing Day with the addition of one-time Alabama running back Anthony ‘Turbo’ Rogers. It is another score for the Buckeyes in the state of Alabama with the pledge (and subsequent signing) of the Montgomery (Ala.) speedster.
After his decommitment from Alabama, Rogers focused in on two schools, Ohio State and Georgia with a planned announcement on NSD 2024.
The 5-foot-8, 190-pounder joins a running back class that includes Bo Jackson and Isaiah West, but Rogers brings a different element and a different body type to the table as the quick scat back that Ohio State has not utilized through recent years.
Rogers is a consensus four-star recruit and adds to Ohio State’s Big Ten best class as the Buckeyes attempt to land the nation’s top class.
Rogers spent time at IMG Academy during his junior year before heading to Carver high school. In his first two years of high school, Rogers attended Pike Road.
The Buckeyes needed to add to the running back room with this being the last year for TreVeyon Henderson and likely the last year for Quinshon Judkins. Judkins did not walk at Ohio State’s Senior Day, but typically Ohio State doesn’t have underclassmen walk at the event.
Ohio State’s class of 2025 will join a running back room that will be thin on scholarship backs with James Peoples and Sam Williams-Dixon carrying the load moving forward along with talented walk-on T.C. Caffey, who missed the 2024 season with an injury.
We will have more on this exciting addition to the Ohio State class including what the Buckeyes are getting, how he fits into Ohio State’s plans. All of that and more here on National Signing Day 2024 at BuckeyeHuddle.com.
