COLUMBUS — Ohio State has added Idaho State defensive end Logan George via the transfer portal.
George (6-5 259) announced his commitment via social media.
George was one of the most sought after edge rushers in the portal this year having led the Big Sky Conference with 18.5 tackles for loss. That was also good for eighth nationally.
He signed with the Buckeyes over offers from Oklahoma, Texas A&M, and others.
The 2024 season with Idaho State was George’s second. He will have two years of eligibility remaining with the Buckeyes.
As a sophomore this past season, George posted 56 tackles, 18.5 tackles for loss, 6.5 sacks, and six quarterback hurries. He started all 12 games this season.
As a freshman in 2023, George finished with 31 tackles and 4.5 tackles for loss.
The Buckeyes will be losing at least two defensive ends following this season, as seniors Jack Sawyer and JT Tuimoloau will move on to the NFL. Junior Caden Curry and redshirt sophomore Kenyatta Jackson could return next year and be in line to start for the Buckeyes.
The depth chart at defensive end is not great for the Buckeyes looking ahead to the 2025 season, so adding a player or two is not a surprise here.
Buckeye Huddle will have more on this addition coming soon.
