Buckeyes Offer Promising North Carolina Running Back

The Ohio State coaching staff is back hitting the recruiting trail hard after last week’s National Championship victory. On Saturday, the Buckeyes offered one of the more impressive class of 2027 running backs in the nation in Raleigh (NC) Rolesville star Amir Brown.

The 5-foot-10, 200-pound back is tracking as an early Top 100 player in the 2027 class.

“It was surreal finding out I got the OSU offer,” Brown told BuckeyeHuddle.com. “What made it surreal is that they are already a great program and then they just won the College Football National Championship.”

Brown is looking to make a visit to Ohio State this off-season. He’s never been to Columbus before but has admired the Buckeyes from afar.

“I’ll be visiting this spring or summer,” he explained. “(Ohio State) is a prestigious program. I’m just thankful knowing they have interest in me and wanting me to be a part of their program in the near future.”

Ohio State’s impressive run to the National Championship has been noticed by recruits around the nation and Brown is no different.

“Their playoff run to the championship was crazy,” he recalled. “I loved how they played hard and aggressive until the clock hit 0.”

The Buckeyes started to get their running backs more involved in the passing game this season with both TreVeyon Henderson and Quinshon Judkins having memorable touchdown receptions during the playoffs. Brown fits that type of bill as an all-around back.

“I would describe my game as a versatile back,” he said. “I can run but more importantly catch from out of the backfield and (beat defenders) deep.”

Ohio State joins North Carolina, Penn State, Stanford, and many others on Brown’s early offer list.
