Blaine Bradford Commits To Buckeyes

The Buckeyes pulled off a bit of a stunner on Monday morning with the verbal commitment of Baton Rouge (La.) safety Blaine Bradford. The class of 2026 star is a 247 composite five-star and a rare pull out of the state of Louisiana.

Bradford checks in at 6-foot-1, 207 pounds and truly was a national prospect with more than 30 offers and that number surely would have swelled if the recruitment carried on through the summer.

Of course, a verbal commitment doesn’t mean that a recruitment is over, and you better believe that LSU and others will fight until the day that the paperwork is signed.

Credit goes to Matt Guerrieri in this recruitment, it is not often that you land the No. 1 player at his position but that is the case here.

Bradford was on campus this past weekend and apparently liked what he saw with the quick pledge after the visit.

Just to add to the intrigue, Blaine’s older brother, Jacob, is an early enrollee at LSU as a member of the class of 2025.

There certainly will be some interesting conversations going on for the next handful of months with players committed to different schools.

Bradford is supposed to return to Ohio State in mid-June for his official visit. That will be important for Ohio State as they look to keep Bradford committed. The younger Bradford has an LSU official visit on the books as well, but time will tell how things sort out there.

The Buckeyes have eight verbal pledges in the class with Bradford making it two in the defensive backfield. He is joined by Jakob Weatherspoon in the secondary.
