Ohio State has landed a verbal commitment from safety Simeon Caldwell out of The Bolles School in Jacksonville, Florida.
Caldwell (6-3 185) is ranked the No. 95 prospect overall in the 2026 class per the 247Sports Composite. Caldwell plays safety but is ranked the No. 7 linebacker prospect in the class.
The ultimate position for Caldwell isn’t yet known, which is something he was perfectly comfortable with last June after camping at Ohio State.
“It just makes me happy knowing that they can see me play multiple positions,” Caldwell said nearly a year ago. “It’s not just, ‘I’m a receiver, I’m a linebacker, I’m a safety.’ I play football. I love the game and I’ll play whatever and I’ll do whatever it takes to stay on the field.”
Caldwell committed to Ohio State over offers from Georgia, LSU, Michigan, Notre Dame, and others. He is also the nephew of OSU secondary coach Tim Walton.
Caldwell’s commitment continues what has been a solid week on the recruiting trail for OSU safeties coach Matt Guerrieri. Three days earlier he landed a commitment from five-star safety Blaine Bradford.
The Buckeyes now have nine commits in the 2026 class.
Stay tuned to Buckeye Huddle for more on what Caldwell’s commitment means for Ohio State.
