Sam Houston transfer offensive tackle Orion Irving is reporting an Ohio State offer.
Irving (6-6 310) is entering his redshirt junior season and has confirmed to Buckeye Huddle that a visit to OSU will happen Friday, April 25.
As a redshirt freshman in 2023, he started the final five games for the Bearkats at right tackle, earning Conference USA All-Freshman team accolades. Last year, Irving was slowed by an injury to start the season and ended up starting the final four games at left tackle.
Irving entered the transfer portal this week and is since also claiming offers from Middle Tennessee, Tulsa, and Liberty.
Following Ohio State’s spring game last Saturday, head coach Ryan Day said the Buckeyes would look to the portal for offensive line help because they were two short on their target number of players.
Irving’s ability to play both tackle spots can add value to whichever team that ultimately signs him.
