Ohio State running back TC Caffey has entered the transfer portal.
Caffey is a fourth-year junior walk-on who literally burst onto the scene as a Buckeye as a true freshman back in 2022 when he scored on a 49-yard run in OSU’s 77-21 win over Toledo in the third game of the season.
Caffey rushed for 66 yards on 10 carries as a true freshman. After his freshman season, however, Caffey has dealt with knee injuries and has not carried the ball since.
The depth chart this season did not seem promising for Caffey, so the move to the transfer portal makes sense for somebody who would certainly like to play and has shown in brief opportunities that the potential is there.
Caffey joins long snapper Morrow Evans, receiver Reis Stocksdale, and punter Anthony Venneri as players who have transferred out since spring practice ended. All began their careers as walk-ons at Ohio State.
The deadline to enter the spring portal is April 25.
