Ohio State left tackle Josh Simmons has been selected by the Kansas City Chiefs with the 32nd and final pick of the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft.
Simmons was a fourth-year junior for the Buckeyes this past season, but was lost for the year following a knee injury in OSU’s 32-31 loss at Oregon back in October. He was still named Third-Team All-Big Ten.
Simmons transferred from San Diego State in April of 2023 and won the starting left tackle job for the Buckeyes as a redshirt sophomore. He was named Honorable Mention in his first year at Ohio State.
Josh Simmons is the first Ohio State offensive tackle to be selected in the first round of the since 2023 when Paris Johnson went sixth overall to the Arizona Cardinals.
Simmons is just the third Buckeye offensive tackle drafted in the first round (Johnson, 2023; Taylor Decker, 2016) since former Buckeye great Orlando Pace went No. 1 overall in 1997.
