Ohio State Off To a Great Start With Budding O-Line Star

CHESTERFIELD, Va. — Ohio State was able to host big-time class of 2028 offensive lineman Isaiah Whitehead for a spring unofficial visit and that visit has paid major dividends as the Buckeyes made a big first impression on the rising star lineman.

“Ohio State, they’re electrifying,” Whitehead told BuckeyeHuddle.com on Tuesday. “It doesn’t matter if its practice or games, they’re always going to be electric. They’re going to make each better constantly, just coming at each other, trying to get the best out of each other.”

Whitehead and his older brother, five-star class of 2027 defensive end Chris Whitehead, were able to take in a spring practice and Isaiah was impressed with how hard the Buckeye staff coached its players.

“The coaching, they’re always on you,” he said. “If you mess up, do it again until you get it right, over and over again. So that’s what I really like about Ohio State, that’s what stood out to me the most (on the visit).”

“He’s real exciting,” Whitehead recalled. “He’s real hyped, like he really loves the game of football. I loved that about him, and you could tell by the way he talks that he could be like a lifetime friend or mentor.”

Ohio State made it clear they’ll be keeping a close eye on Whitehead and an offer from the Buckeyes could make things very interesting for the rising sophomore.

“If I was to get the offer from Ohio State, and I know (Bowen) is coaching (the O-Line), like immediately to the top of my list,” he said. “He’s electrifying. I love electrifying people.”
