Super 2027 Back Amir Brown Sees A Lot to Like About Ohio State

ROLESVILLE, N.C. — Ohio State is in the mix for some of the nation’s top running back prospects in the 2027 recruiting class and Rolesville (NC) star Amir Brown is one of them.

Brown made a trip to Columbus during the spring and has built an early connection with Buckeye running backs coach Carlos Locklyn.

“Coach Locklyn is a great dude,” Brown told BuckeyeHuddle.com on Wednesday. “I like his coaching style. I like how he encourages his backs to get better every day. I like how they get after it, I like everything they do. I could see myself there.”

The pace and intensity of practice was a major highlight of Brown’s spring visit.

“I like how they get after it,” Brown recalled. “I want to earn everything I get, nothing given to me, so I like how they go after what they want. They got the Natty last year and you can see why. If you go up there on a visit you can see why. They just get after it up there every day.”

The talented back plans to get back to Columbus in June for a one-day camp to work with Locklyn.

“He wants to see me in person, see me move,” Brown explained. “That’s another step for me to show coach what I’m really about.”

The Ohio State trip was arguably the highlight of Brown’s spring visit schedule.

“I visited five or six schools this spring, starting with UNC,” he recalled. “Duke, Ohio State, Notre Dame. Out of all of those visits Ohio State was definitely up there. I just like the program. They like to develop their guys and I could see myself there.”
