Welcome to our daily feature that I am calling “50 for 50” where I attempt to get us to Big Ten Media Days — which are 43 days away — with a daily sampling of what we can look forward to this upcoming college football season. Today’s edition features Ohio State receiver Brandon Inniss, cornerback Davison Igbinosun, and more.
As always, we will do this via the following categories: the 50 biggest individual matchups for the Buckeyes this season, the 50 most important college football games this season, 50 Buckeye things to look forward to this season, 50 national predictions, 50 Big Ten predictions, and 50 predictions involving the Buckeyes.

Biggest Buckeye Matchups
OHIO STATE WR BRANDON INNISS VS. ILLINOIS DB XAVIER SCOTT
Ohio State junior receiver Brandon Inniss has been patient, but now his role in the offense is about to explode. As the Buckeyes’ No. 1 slot receiver this year, he’s going to be targeted more than ever. He’s also going to be dealing with some of the Big Ten’s best defensive backs. Illinois nickel back Xavier Scott was a First-Team All-Big Ten selection last year after finishing second in the league with four interceptions. Scott is a relentless defender, but Inniss will match that energy all game long. This is going to be a fun matchup to watch in a game that could be very trappish for the Buckeyes.
Most Important Games
PENN STATE NITTANY LIONS AT OHIO STATE BUCKEYES, NOV. 1
Some are calling it the game of the year. Others are calling it just another opportunity for James Franklin to disappoint an entire state. Consensus Big Ten favorite Penn State travels to Ohio State on November 1 looking for their first victory against the Buckeyes since 2016. The winner of this game will stake their claim as the Big Ten’s best and take one giant step towards a spot in the Big Ten Championship Game in Indianapolis. The loser will be left to pick up the pieces and rebuild the momentum down the stretch run of November.
Things To Look Forward To
BRIAN HARTLINE AS A PLAY CALLER.
The Ohio State offense under head coach Ryan Day is always going to have playmakers and quarterbacks who can distribute the ball. The Ryan Day offense has also always had experienced and elite play-callers. Now, however, the play calling will go to Brian Hartline, who may be elite, but is not experienced. Still, it will be interesting to see how he develops. Based on his track record so far, it’s safe to assume he’s gonna be good at this too.

National College Football Predictions
DYLAN STEWART WILL HAVE DOUBLE-DIGIT SACKS.
South Carolina defensive end Dylan Stewart had scouts drooling last year with some of his pass rush moves as a true freshman. He finished with 6.5 sacks, but he only had two sacks in his final seven games against FBS opponents. Opponents were forced to scheme him up to slow him down. He flashed last year, but if he spent the offseason getting better instead of just getting richer, then we could be in for something special this year. The NFL already wants him, and it’s easy to see why.
Big Ten Football Predictions
DANTE MOORE WILL THROW FOR MORE TDS THAN DILLON GABRIEL.
I could take the easy way out and say that Oregon quarterback Dante Moore will throw for more touchdowns than former Duck QB Dillon Gabriel this year, but I wouldn’t want to force anybody to watch the Browns in order to keep up with my prediction. Instead, I’ll say that Moore will throw more than Gabriel’s 30 from last season.
Ohio State Football Predictions
DAVISON IGBINOSUN WILL NOT COMMIT A PENALTY AGAINST TEXAS.
Ohio State senior cornerback Davison Igbinosun is well known for being a physical defender. Unfortunately, his being so well-known does him no favors in the eyes of the refs. The season opener against Texas is going to feature some tremendous receiver matchups for Igbinosun, but he will live up to them. In fact, he will be so ready that not a single penalty will be accepted against him, other than perhaps a celebration penalty.
