Five-Star Receiver Jamier Brown Has Big Plans For 2025 And Beyond

Jamier Brown is already part of the Buckeye fold and he won’t actually suit up in an Ohio State uniform for another 27 months.

The top wide receiver in the 2027 recruiting class has been committed since last November. His commitment came just two days after he wrapped up a sophomore season at Wayne High School in Dayton where he caught 63 passes for 1,035 yards and 13 touchdowns.

Just how deeply the young receiver is already entrenched at Ohio State could be seen at Monday’s one-day camp on OSU’s campus where Brown was in attendance to compete. Current Buckeyes attend the camps every year, some as counselors, others as onlookers.

At times during one-on-ones between receivers and defensive backs, some of those current Buckeye attendees on the defensive side of the ball could be seen giving Jamier Brown some playful grief, while the OSU receivers would step in and coach him up.

It was clear that Brown was more than just a camper to the Buckeyes on hand.

“Honestly, it feels good,” Brown said of both the grief and the help. “It just shows how competitive they are when they go against each other. I love to compete, so I can’t wait to be up here to compete.”

The desire to compete has treated Brown pretty well to this point. He doesn’t have plans on changing any time soon. This is all very good news for both Brown and the Buckeyes, because Brown is already one of the most well-known prospects in the 2027 recruiting class.

What Is Next For Jamier Brown?

Being an Ohioan who is already committed to the Buckeyes should streamline things for Brown. It is not, however, going to slow down the expectations or attention.

He is currently blowing up, so how does he stay grounded?

“I just go about my business like I’m not,” Brown told Buckeye Huddle. “I just stay very humble always. Me starting to get out there, it’s a great feeling, but that’s not what I’m worried about. I’m just worried about getting better each and every day.”

Not only is Brown getting better every day in football, he’s also getting better every day in track. This past weekend, Brown won the Division I State Championship in the 100 meters with a time of 10.41 seconds. It was just slightly off of the personal record 10.36 he ran in the preliminaries.

Jamier Brown will be back at Ohio State as much as his schedule allows, but he also has other plans this summer prior to his junior season.

“Taking care of my body is one thing,” he said “Always got to take care of your body. The other thing is just keeping working. Get extra reps, get extra mental reps, all of that is very important.”

Wayne’s season ended in the regional finals last year, and Brown obviously wants a better result for his team this year. He also has some personal goals in mind as well.

“Well, 2,000 yards receiving, Gatorade Player of the Year, Mr. Football, whatever you want to call it, I’m going for it all,” he said.

No doubt those are some lofty goals for Jamier Brown, but based on his career to this point, if somebody is going to try and stop him, they better get their hands on him very early on.

Just watch.
