BRADENTON, Fla. — Ohio State is still rounding out its 2026 offensive line class but a handful of players are emerging has priority targets in the 2027 class, including Coatesville (Pa.) standout Max Hiller.
The 6-foot-5, 300-pound prospect dominated over the weekend at the Under Armour Future 50. After being acknowledged by Buckeye Huddle after a dominant morning session Saturday, Hiller went back out in the evening and won the Lineman Challenge as the event’s top big-man performer.
“If I’m being totally honest, I was a little nervous coming out here,” Hiller told BuckeyHuddle.com. “We don’t play competition like this up in Philly. I prayed through it, trusted my skills, and came out and did my thing.”
Hiller has been listed as an interior line prospect on some recruiting websites, but dominated the event at right tackle, where he plays in high school. Tackle is where Hiller feels most comfortable at this point and that showed over the weekend in Bradenton.
“My dominant position is right tackle,” he explained. “A couple of the recruiting sites have me as an interior O-lineman, no biggie, but my dominant position is definitely right tackle.”
On June 15th, colleges could start directly contacting class of 2027 prospects. With Hiller being a national prospect, his phone has been blowing up over the past two weeks.
“It was a hectic night, but I enjoyed it all,” he explained. “Clemson, Oklahoma, Penn State, Ohio State, Georgia, Tennessee, Maryland, are the schools I’ve probably heard from the most.”

Ohio State has had Hiller on its radar for quite a while now, even between coaching changes.
“I’m super happy that coach Bowen came in,” Hiller said. “I really liked coach Frye and was sad to see him leave, but coach Bowen is a great fit. We’re just working on building a relationship right now. Coach Bowen is a great guy and a great coach and I’m excited to build this relationship with him.”
Hiller has visited Ohio State before, but was unable to make it to Columbus this month. He plans to get back as soon as possible.
“I’ll definitely be there for a game,” he said.
Early on, Ohio State has given Hiller plenty of things to like about how things are done in Columbus.
“I really like the coaching staff there,” he continued. “The fans, the stadium, the program history, how well they develop guys, just stuff like that.”
Max Hiller plans to drop his top eight schools soon so that he can narrow the scope of his recruiting process.
