50 For 50: Expect Happy Homecoming For Mylan Graham

Welcome to our daily feature that I am calling “50 for 50” where I attempt to get us to Big Ten Media Days — which are 11 days away — with a daily sampling of what we can look forward to this upcoming college football season. Today’s edition features Ohio State defensive end Logan George, receiver Mylan Graham, and more.

As always, we will do this via the following categories: the 50 biggest individual matchups for the Buckeyes this season, the 50 most important college football games this season, 50 Buckeye things to look forward to this season, 50 national predictions, 50 Big Ten predictions, and 50 predictions involving the Buckeyes.

Biggest Buckeye Matchups

PENN STATE LT DREW SHELTON VS. OHIO STATE DE LOGAN GEORGE

Logan George transferred to Ohio State from Idaho State back in the winter, so he’s going to take a big step up in competition this year. Fortunately for him, he’ll have seven games as a Buckeye under his belt before the unanimous Big Ten favorites come to town. Penn State returns starting left tackle Drew Shelton was an Honorable Mention All-Big Ten selection last year, just like his quarterback Drew Allar.

Most Important Games

TEXAS LONGHORNS AT GEORGIA BULLDOGS, NOV. 15

Some are calling this the biggest conference game of the 2025 college football season, but how big can it be if it’s not even a noon game? Whoever wins this game will cash their ticket to the College Football Playoff. Whoever loses this game will still want to hold on to their ticket because there will be a bonus raffle after the regular season.

Things To Look Forward To

tHE FRESHMEN DEFENSIVE ENDS SEEING THEIR FIRST ACTION.

Ohio State brought in two defensive ends in the 2025 recruiting class. Zion Grady enrolled in the winter, so he’s already been through camp life. What he experiences in fall camp won’t be all that unfamiliar to him. Epi Sitanilei enrolled this summer, so his next Buckeye football practice will be his first. Still, it will be interesting to see them get some snaps in week two against Grambling. That will be our first glimpse at what the future looks like. Outside of the blowout games, however, the freshmen are going to have a difficult time seeing the field given OSU’s DE depth this year.

National College Football Predictions

SCOTT FROST WILL GET UCF BACK TO A BOWL GAME THIS YEAR.

UCF is coming off of a 4-8 season and their first bowl miss since 2015. The last time the Knights missed a bowl game, they fired their head coach and hired Scott Frost. UCF head coach Gus Malzahn resigned following the 2024 season and so the university did what they normally do when they need to get back to being good — they hired Scott Frost. A Big XII schedule — and the former Husker — are just what the doctor ordered to get back to the six-win plateau and beyond.

Big Ten Football Predictions

THE FIRST-TEAM ALL-B1G QUARTERBACK WILL BE A TRANSFER.

Only three transfer quarterbacks have been named First-Team All-Big Ten in the last quarter century. Russell Wilson did it in 2011, and then Justin Fields (2019, 2020) and Dillon Gabriel (2024) have made it three All-B1G transfer QBs just in the last six years. This year, the possibilities are Ohio State’s Julian Sayin, Oregon’s Dante Moore, Illinois’ Luke Altmyer, Indiana’s Fernando Mendoza, USC’s Jayden Maiava, and there’s a few more as well. They’ll all be battling Penn State’s Drew Allar, Nebraska’s Dylan Raiola, and possibly OSU’s Lincoln Kienholz or Washington’s Demond Williams.

Ohio State Football Predictions

MYLAN GRAHAM WILL SCORE A TOUCHDOWN AT PURDUE.

I fully expect Ohio State redshirt freshman wide receiver — and Fort Wayne, Indiana native — Mylan Graham to catch his first career touchdown pass well before the Buckeyes play at Purdue on November 8. I also fully expect Mylan Graham to make some noise when he’s back in his home state for the first time in his career. Sure, Columbus is only a little further from Fort Wayne than West Lafayette is, but everybody loves a homecoming.
