Is Nicholas Rodriguez the next great St. Thomas Aquinas to Ohio State story?

PLANTATION, Fla. – There has been a lot of history with the Buckeyes and St. Thomas Aquinas high school in south Florida. This is the same school that not only produced the Bosa brothers but former Buckeyes including Damon Arnette and Nate Salley as well as Ohio State commit Jordan Lyle.

Linebacker Nicholas Rodriguez could be the next in line as a member of the class of 2024 and as a teammate of Lyle.

The 6-foot-1, 215-pounder holds close to two-dozen offers and is set to be making a return visit to Ohio State in just a couple of weeks for an official visit.

The Buckeyes already hold a pair of linebacker commits with Garrett Stover and Payton Pierce, but Rodriguez has his own fit into any system and the Buckeyes have been very interested in his game.

“They like the way I play, how I’m aggressive,” Rodriguez said. “And they like the type of player I am, the type of person I am.”

Jim Knowles has been taking the lead for the Buckeyes in this recruitment and Rodriguez has been very impressed by the way that the Buckeyes have laid out a plan for what could be his future.

What is going to be important to Rodriguez as he looks to make that decision?

“Someplace that’s home, somewhere I feel like I’m welcomed and somewhere I fit,” Rodriguez said. “And I feel that it’s like a family.”

It doesn’t hurt that his fellow teammate is going up for his June 2^nd official visit, bringing a piece of home with him.

Rodriguez is sure that Ohio State fans will be impressed with Lyle, calling him a ‘dawg’ and someone who is going to bring the energy.

Strangely enough., Lyle said many of the same things when talking about Rodriguez, so there must be something in the water at St. Thomas Aquinas.

Look for a top-six to be coming from Rodriguez very soon and spoiler alert, the Buckeyes will make that cut.
