Ohio State offered class of 2025 legacy prospect Landon Pace a year ago following a camp performance. The 6-foot-3, 220-pound tight end prospect and son of Ohio State legend Orlando Pace, out of St. Louis (MO) University was back on campus Thursday to reconnect with the Ohio State staff.
It was an important trip for Pace who was offered by former tight ends coach Kevin Wilson. Getting to go through a workout with new tight ends coach Keenan Bailey was an important component of the trip.
“It was a solid camp,” Pace told BuckeyeHuddle.com afterwards. “I liked working with coach (Keenan Bailey). He’s a little different than coach Wilson, so just to get out here and get a feel (for how he coaches) was great.”
“He’s young and he really connects with the guys,” Pace continued. “That’s important to me. It’s good to start building that relationship with him.”
Pace is being recruited heavily by programs such as Missouri and West Virginia, but a new school has started to pick up their pursuit of the athletic pass catcher and it’s maybe not one you’d expect.
“I just got back from (visiting) That Team Up North,” Pace said with a smile.
Pace’s father took him up to Ann Arbor, an Ohio State legend in enemy territory, but this is about Landon’s recruitment and not his father’s college rivalries.
“It was a little different for him,” he laughed. “But he got used to it and he survived.”
