Ohio State is off to a good start to its 2025 recruiting class and one of its biggest targets now has a decision date. Five-star Houston (TX) North Shore cornerback Devin Sanchez announced his intentions to make his college commitment during the All-American Bowl on January 6th on NBC.
Sanchez is arguably the top player on the Ohio State recruiting board right now, regardless of position, and was most recently on campus a couple of weeks ago for Ohio State’s win over Penn State.
Sanchez will choose between finalists Alabama, Ohio State, and Texas A&M. The 6-foot-2, 170-pound prospect has not been shy recently in his affinity for Ohio State and now the Buckeyes will have two months to close the deal on perhaps the nation’s top cornerback prospect.
Sanchez has already been to Columbus a few times, including an impressive camp performance back in June where he really connected with Buckeyes’ cornerbacks coach Tim Walton.
When Sanchez returned for the Penn State game, it did not go without mention that the Buckeyes were able to start true freshman Jermaine Mathews at cornerback that day with Mathews turning in an outstanding performance in relief of starter Denzel Burke.
