Ohio State is going to keep recruiting the state of New Jersey as long as players are willing to come to Columbus (Ohio).
And it does not appear that streak is going to end any time soon.
The Buckeyes are back in the Garden State with the signing of West Orange (N.J.) safety Jaylen McClain.
The 6-foot, 185-pounder had close to three dozen offers along the way and it was not always clear that the Buckeyes were going to be the pick.
Ohio State got involved a little later than other programs and made quite the impression to run up to the top of McClain’s list, with McClain committing to Ohio State in June of 2023.
Of course now the question is where does McClain fit into the mix in the Jim Knowles defense?
There should be plenty of opportunity in the future but how quick will McClain find the field for the Buckeyes? Only time will tell but we have some ideas as we break down what this means for Ohio State in this latest signing day capsule.
