Ohio Receiver Preston Bowman Impresses At All-American Combine

SAN ANTONIO — One of the top performers this past weekend at the All-American Underclassmen Combine in San Antonio (Texas) was Pickerington (Ohio) North wide receiver Preston Bowman. The local product is coming off an outstanding junior season for the Panthers that saw him haul in 12 touchdown receptions.

“It was definitely a great experience,” Bowman told BuckeyeHuddle.com. “There’s a lot good players around here in Texas so just getting out there and going against that competition, it was great. I feel like I put on a good show.”

Offers have started to come in for Bowman as well as interest from some of the top programs in the Midwest, including Ohio State.

“Coach Hartline has been texting me,” Bowman said. “He’s just been checking up on me and wanting to see me back (on campus). I couldn’t make a bowl practice, but he just wants to get me back over there.”

Bowman camped with Ohio State last summer and also made multiple unofficial visits this fall for games. As a local prospect, hearing from Ohio State is not something that Bowman has taken lightly.

“It means a lot,” Bowman said. “Ohio State recruits to win national championships. Especially being from Ohio, I feel like we’re on the rise.”

This off-season will be a big one for Bowman. Kentucky has offered, but numerous Power Five programs have him on the radar. As one of the more productive receivers in Ohio, Bowman is a player who could see his stock rise as much as anyone in the state in the coming months.

“They’re going to get a great human being and someone with a great work ethic,” he said. “I’ll never stop grinding until I reach the top. So the schools on the fence, I feel like they should jump over the fence.”
