Elite Ohio Cornerback Elbert Hill Talks Latest Ohio State Visit

Before his sophomore football season even kicked off, class of 2026 Akron (Ohio) Hoban cornerback Elbert Hill grabbed an Ohio State offer after an impressive summer camp performance. Hill certainly validated the Buckeyes’ faith in him, putting together a tremendous sophomore season at Hoban as he begins to blossom into a national level recruit.

Hill was back in Columbus on Saturday for another visit to Ohio State.

“The visit was amazing,” Hill told BuckeyeHuddle.com. “Meeting some of the recruits and being to build relationships with the coaches (were the highlights of the visit).”

Hill was able to spend some time with class of 2025 Ohio State cornerback commit Blake Woodby. The two have a similar physical profile and both know what it’s like to be labeled and early priority by Ohio State cornerbacks coach Tim Walton.

Walton’s work on and off the field has impressed Hill so far during the recruiting process.

“Things are going great with me and coach Walt,” Hill said. “He is doing an amazing job recruiting. He straight up will tell you the truth and nothing but the truth.”

As he becomes a national prospect, Hill will have no shortage of options and doesn’t have a decision time frame in sight at the moment. With that said, Ohio State is in a good early position for the Top 100 prospect.

“Ohio State would be a top pick for me but I’m going to let everything just play out right now,” he said. “Not really ready to make a decision.”

Hill has an unofficial visit scheduled to Penn State for the upcoming weekend. He is the No. 2 ranked prospect in the state of Ohio for the 2026 class according to our rankings here at BuckeyeHuddle.com.
