Per national college basketball reporter Jeff Goodman, Ohio State has parted ways with men’s basketball coach Chris Holtmann.
Holtmann was in his seventh season with the Buckeyes where he had compiled a 137-86 record overall and a 67-65 mark in Big Ten play.
Ohio State is currently 14-11 on the season overall and 4-10 in the conference. The Buckeyes are coming off of a 62-54 loss at Wisconsin Tuesday night. It was their 16th-consecutive road loss in Big Ten play. They have not won a game on the road against a conference opponent since January 1, 2023 at Northwestern.
Holtmann started strong at Ohio State but was never able to take the Buckeyes past the second round of the NCAA Tournament. Ohio State missed the tournament last year and are expected to miss it again this year.
The Buckeyes are 30-30 over the past two seasons and just 9-25 in Big Ten play.
Ohio State has not yet confirmed the departure.
Buckeye Huddle will have more on this in the coming days.
