The hype continues to build around freshman wide receiver Jeremiah Smith. Smith became the first Ohio State football player to lose his black stripe this spring, the program announced on Thursday afternoon.
Not only was Smith the first player to lose his black stripe this spring, but he became the fastest to do so in program history after just four practices. Carnell Tate was the previous owner of that record, taking just five practices to lose his black stripe last spring.
Despite the incredible hype around Smith upon entering the program, the nation’s No. 1 overall recruit in the 2024 class continues to live up to every bit of praise he has received.
