Jake Diebler’s Buckeyes have made a big move, with emphasis on the word big, via the transfer portal by landing Aaron Bradshaw from Kentucky. The 7-foot-1, 226-pounder joins Meechie Johnson as players who will help round out Diebler’s first full season as Ohio State’s head coach.
The Ramsey (N.J.) product was a McDonald’s All-American and ranked as high as No. 2 overall by one of the scouting services. Bradshaw would ultimately select Kentucky over LSU, Oklahoma State and Louisville.
The sudden departure of John Calipari to Arkansas opened a 30-day window for Wildcats players to transfer, even in advance of the next transfer portal window opening.
Bradshaw visited Ohio State officially the weekend of the Spring Game and while the backdrop of 80-thousand fans for a football game was nice, Diebler and his newly assembled staff painted out a picture of what Ohio State basketball is going to look like, especially with the addition of a big man like Bradshaw.
Injury held Bradshaw back early in the season, not seeing his first action until December and it has been a process getting back into the flow of things for the talented big man.
Bradshaw would register double-digit scoring in seven of 26 games played and would put up a double-double in his second career game, against Penn (17 points, 11 rebounds) but his season numbers were much more humble at 4.9 points per game and 3.3 rebounds.
The 2024-25 Buckeyes will certainly have a different look with the departure of players like Jamison Battle, Dale Bonner, Zed Key, Scotty Middleton, and Roddy Gayle, just to name a few.
The Buckeyes will now have another big man to go alongside Felix Okpara and Austin Parks.
We will have more on this breaking news here at BuckeyeHuddle.com, don’t miss out and keep it locked in here.
