Elite Lineman Da’Ron Parks Sees A Lot to Like About Ohio State

Ohio State has already established a handful of key recruiting targets along the offensive line in the 2026 recruiting cycle. One of those is Hurricane (WV) star Da’Ron Parks.

The 6-foot-5, 300-pound prospect has made multiple unofficial visits to Ohio State over the past year as he builds a relationship with offensive line coach Justin Frye and the rest of the Buckeye staff. So far, the Buckeyes have impressed the big-time talent.

“Ohio State puts guys into the league every year,” Parks said. “Many first round draft picks. A lineman I look up to in Paris Johnson, so the coaching is what really sticks out to me. The facilities are really good. I feel like Ohio really loves Ohio State. I feel like you’re in a good community when you’re around there and that’s something that I look for in a college.”

Growing up just about two hours from Columbus, Parks has always had an affinity for the Buckeyes.

“I think I just turned on an Ohio State game, I think it was the Ohio State-Michigan game,” he recalled. “I was really young, like five or six years old, and just started off like ‘I like the red team’ and started doing my research and was like ‘that’s Ohio State’ and ever since then I’ve just loved Ohio State.”

Parks expects to make his third visit to Columbus sooner rather than later with a June date set.

“Our team is going to go up there to play in their 7on7 (tournament),” Parks explained. “So I’m going to go up there and watch my team do that. As much as I can, I’m going to get up there.”

That will provide Parks with another chance to connect with Frye who has been recruiting him hard over the past year.

“Coach Frye is a really good guy,” Parks explained. “A lot of coaches just try to recruit you and tell you all the good stuff but coach Frye will point out stuff that you need to work on. He doesn’t change the way he coaches when you get there, so he’s a really good guy.”
